About the Clinic and Chiropractors The clinic
Chiropractic for Life Ltd was first registered back in 2003. After graduating from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic, Dr. Wilcox started working in Takapuna on Auckland's North Shore, where his company's services were employed.
In July 2005, Dr. Dion Wilcox and Chiropractic for Life moved to the North Shore Medical & Health Centre at Sunset Rd, Mairangi Bay. The unit was transformed into a family-oriented Chiropractic centre, catering for everyone from all walks of life and of all ages (newborns to elderly, pregnant mothers, professional athletes).
In September 2009, Chiropractic for Life added to the scope of their practice and welcomed Mrs. Melanie O'Dell. Melanie is a New Zealand trained and qualified Massage Therapist. Melanie comes highly recommended from many of our clients. She is available from Monday to Saturday. Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning 0800 466 724 or through her website – www.therapeutika.co.nz
In February 2011, Chiropractic for Life welcomed Dr. Jiyun Rhee aboard. As both doctors graduated from the same Chiropractic College, their diagnostic procedures and adjusting techniques are very similar. The techniques allow the correction of neurological interferences and dysfunction in both the spinal and non-spinal joints of babies, parents, pregnant mothers and elderly (to name a few).
Dr. Dion Wilcox (BSc, BChiro)
Dion graduated in 2003 from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic with a Bachelor of Chiropractic Degree. In March of that year, he was awarded the Chiropractic Student Research Award from the Australian Spinal Research Foundation, for his contribution to Chiropractic Research. His topic of interest was – "Does Chiropractic Care have an affect on Pulmonary Function in Endurance Athletes".
After completing Secondary School at Kristin on Auckland’s North Shore, Dion enrolled in a Bachelor of Science Degree at The University of Auckland. He graduated with his BSc (majoring in Psychology) in 1997.
Dion has always been passionate about sport. He has played many sports at both social and highly competitive levels, and in a roundabout sort of way, they led him to his new passion in that of Chiropractic (see Dion’s Chiropractic Story).
Outside the Clinic, you may see Dion hitting the surf at Te Arai Point or Maori Bay, cruising down the slopes of Turoa on his snowboard, or playing competitive tennis on Auckland's North Shore. He also enjoys Touch Rugby, Indoor Cricket, Soccer and Wake-boarding. He also manages to spend quality time with his partner, Erina and their daughter, Olivia.
Dion is ACC registered and is qualified to care for people of all ages (newborns, toddlers, elderly, pregnant mothers). He is also EVT Certified which enables him to diagnose and adjust extremity (non-spinal) joint dysfunction.
Dr. Jiyun Rhee (BChiro)
Dr. Rhee joined our Clinic in February 2011. She brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to Chiropractic for Life. As well as English, Dr. Rhee can speak fluent Korean, which is a necessity to our North Shore based Clinic.
Dr. Rhee spent her early school-age years in Seoul, South Korea. She moved to Auckland and completed Secondary School at Papakura High School. She then completed a Foundation Course in Biomedical Science at the University of Auckland.
During this time Dr. Rhee became very interested in the Biomechanics of the Human Body. To further pursue this interest, she was encouraged to enroll at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic, where Dr. Rhee graduated with a Bachelor of Chiropractic Degree.
Outside the clinic, Jiyun is often found on the Tennis Court, Snowboarding down the slopes of Mt. Ruapehu, or spending time with her husband, Sam. Her other interests include Gym workout sessions and on Sundays, she is an active member of the Christian Hanouri Church.
Dr. Rhee is ACC registered and is qualified to care for people of all ages (newborns, toddlers, elderly, pregnant mothers). She is also EVT Certified which enables her to diagnose and adjust extremity (non-spinal) joint dysfunction.
